Here you will find a series of articles that relate to all the areas of cinema that interest me, my colleagues and, hopefully, you. I am not genre or subject-specific, and there is no emphasis on either commercial or arthouse fare (a distinction I am not particularly fond of anyway). I aim to hit the middle ground between academic discussion and a lighter, more playful tone that is so important. After all, even the academic discussion is informed, first and foremost, by a love of cinema.

I would also like to emphasise that your contributions are both welcome and encouraged. The ultimate aim is to provide a forum for anyone who wishes to participate, by simply asking questions or by posting your own articles and reviews. Perhaps, like me, you are interested in a broad range of opinions, or want feedback and comment on works in progress. Or maybe you're just a fan of the medium who is bored with the soundbite rhetoric that passes for film criticism these days, and wants to sink their teeth into something a bit more substantial.

Whatever your motives, if you love cinema you're welcome. And if you have opinions, articles or reviews then doubly so.
